Micz Flor and Philip Scheffner Bio- and Filmographies:
MICZ FLOR
(born 1969 in Unna, Germany)
Micz Flor has worked with multi-media since the mid-90s, focussing on
Internet and community networking. He received the First Internet Art Award
of the Hamburger Kunsthalle in 1997 (with Florian Clauß) and the Multimedia
Award of the Landeshauptstadt Stuttgart in 1998 (with Josephine Berry).
Flor was co-founder of the independent media fanzine 'Crash Media' which
later developed into an umbrella for various media activities, including
video works.
Flor also works as a media developer for a Prague based Foundation,
supporting independent media in Asia and East Europe. Besides his cultural
activities in curating and organising media related conferences and
exhibitions, Flor also produced video works for theatre plays, most
prominently exposed in the German Pavillion at the EXPO2000 in Hannover at
the closing show 'Abschied'. He also produced music videos for the
independent Berlin label 'Monika Enterprise' which were screened on MTV
Germany and Viva-Plus.
Recently Flor started collaborating with Philip Scheffner on a series of
small documentaries on independent media development in East Europe and
Asia.

PHILIP SCHEFFNER
(born 1966 in Homburg/Saar, Germany)
Philip Scheffner has worked as a visual artist since 1985. From 1990 to
1995 co-founder and member of the group "Botschaft e.V." together with
10-15 artists, filmmakers, musicians, net activists a.o. Works as an
artists group, screenings, exhibitions, concerts a.o. in the association's
independent club space in Berlin Participations in national and
international art exhibitions and events.
From 1991 to 1999 member of the authors and producers group "dogfilm"
together with the video and filmmakers Bettina Ellerkamp, Jörg Heitmann,
Merle Kröger and Ed van Megen. Development and production of videos between
the genres documentary, essay and video art, in cooperation with Kanal 4,
ZDF/ Das Kleine Fernsehspiel, ARTE and 3SAT. Complete development of two
"theme nights" for ARTE.
Videos by dogfilm have been shown in various national and international
festivals. Since 2000 video projects in progress. Composition and
Production of electroacoustic sounds. 2001 co-founder and member of the
media production platform "pong" together with Merle Kröger. Release of the
audio CD "fon" on pong in May 2001.
