Hello
Was a bit shaken yesterday to find crumb had vanished for the day,
was it my computer or a server crash?, who knows! but that combined
with a reassurance to my panic stricken email from Beryl that it
had'nt vanished with some recent occurances in the 'net.art world'
(most notably rhizome's membership fee) have spurred me into action.
Essentially i've been following this list for near on a year i think
now, but have never felt 'involved', not sure if this was due to the
fact many of the features seem to be rotating around research groups
as such or events but i have posted from time to time on what i've
been doing. Anyway i'm not a curator of new media but a net.artist
(note i use vuk cosics version - with the 'dot', for those who are
inclined) and i lecture in two universities part-time in new media so
feel i do have some valuable input to give.
What i was wondering was is there anybody here who works
particularily in the field of net.art esp with respect to curating?
what do people think of whats happening to net.art and can we
generate some discussion, ether here or off forum (don't hesite to
email me - [log in to unmask]). i'm just genuinely concerned that
net.art seems to be going down the drain and am considering trying to
form inititives to solve (or attempt to) certain problems.
once again please don't hesitate to contact me if you want to discuss
any of the above!
