Here is another invitation for the net.art world to become visible to each
other - on the west coast of Canada.
I am currently organizing a panel discussion and a "show and tell" session
for net.artists on Sunday, March 30th, at 2pm at the Surrey Art Gallery.
This is in conjunction with the launch of the project "Catalogue" by Kate
Armstrong www.katearmstrong.com which is a critique of on line shopping. It
was commissioned for the Surrey TechLab www.surreytechlab.ca as part of our
artist in residence program. All artists who consider the internet as their
medium are invited to participate. We may not have dinner and wine together
(it would be great to visit with you again Skawennati) but we provide great
snacks.
If you are a net.artist, and are interested in speaking on the panel, and
live near, or will be visiting Vancouver, Canada, please contact me.
I also have support for the Surrey Art Gallery to produce a publication that
features a collection of short position/opinion texts by net.artists on this
form of art practice. If you are interested in contributing, please contact
me.
And if you are in our neighbourhood, on Sunday afternoon, February 23rd,
we're opening "Ground Station" a new media project (formerly known as La
Salle des Noeuds) by Canadian artists Daniel Jolliffe and Jocelyn Robert. We
have just published a CD, which features an essay by Tapio Makala.

Subject: Dinner in a Nice Restaurant in Montreal
Bonjour All!
Some months back on the CRUMB list, a simple but brilliant e-mail
caught my eye; The subject line was: Dinner in a Nice Restaurant in
Istanbul. At least, that is what I remember, but several searches
have left me unable to find the instigator of this brazen idea. The
letter went on to invite anyone who was in Istanbul on a certain date
to come and meet other members of the faceless, and often even
nameless, digital arts community in a nice restaurant. Tres cool.
I am shamelessly stealing this idea.
If you are in Montreal on Friday, February 28, let's meet & greet &
eat. Let me know by February 21st so that reservations can be made
(and you can send nice-restaurant suggestions, too.)
Sincerely,
skawennati
