Wageningen, January 2003
Dear colleagues,
We have the pleasure to announce the symposium “LANDSCAPE DIALOGUES IN
METROPOLITAN DELTA AREAS”
The symposium will be held at the World Congress of the International
Association of Landscape Ecology, “Crossing Frontiers: Landscape Ecology
Down Under – Building Bridges between Cultures, Disciplines and Approaches,
Darwin, Australia, 13-17 July 2002.
The aim of the symposium is to bring researchers, non-academic actors and
stakeholders together and to discuss the specific problems, solutions and
challenges for planning and management approaches in metropolitan delta
areas. LANDSCAPE DIALOGUES identify existing interests and lifestyles and
bring the relevant stakeholders together to commonly develop a strategy for
a sustainable spatial development of delta regions. In the symposium, we
would like to share knowledge, theory and experiences with landscape
dialogues and would like to illustrate application of landscape research
expertise in planning and management processes.
We invite papers that deal with problems and challenges of participatory
and transdisciplinary landscape planning and management in metropolitan
delta areas all over the world. If you are interested in participating in
the symposium and/or presenting a paper/poster, please send us your
abstract (200 words) until 20 January 2003 at [log in to unmask] .
More information on the symposium is available at:
