Dear Mary,
I am in the process of editing the UNDP World Vulnerability Report. You may
have heard of this publication. It is based upon a global multi-hazard
Disaster Risk Index. As part of the report I describe the need to take a
nested view on disasters data with global datasets hiding national variety
and national data hiding local patterns. In pareticular I draw from one
example in Orissa. In a subsequent chapter I use material like the Orissa
data to frame a discussion of good practice. It seems there may be some
excellent material in your report that I could use in the UNDP document. If
you are prepared for me to look at the case material you have gathered and
to reference your report could you please send me a hard copy. Please send
material to the address in the signature.
Thanks
Mark Pelling
