Dear All,
This is our second e-mail to let you know about progress towards the QRA
2nd INTERNATIONAL POSTGRADUATE PALAEO-ENVIRONMENTS SYMPOSIUM to be held
from the 10-12th September 2003 at the Department of Geography, Queen
Mary, University of London (see details below).
The first piece of news is to remind you all that our 'early-bird'
deadline is rapidly approaching!!. If you remember, this is the cut-off
point for guaranteed accomodation in lovely university halls of
residence! The deadline is the 31st May, that is this weekend! However,
we should still be able to find you somewhere if you do not make it by
then but please get in touch as soon as possible. The registration form
is available on our state-of-the-art website at
http://www.geog.qmul.ac.uk/qra/symposium.htm and should also be in the
next QRA circular.
The second item, is that we now have a confirmed second speaker for the
meeting. Our very own, Professor Jaap van der Meer will speak on the
Thursday afternoon, on a topic yet to be announced. Professor van der
Meer is an eminent glaciologist, if you are unfamiliar with his work,
you can find a taster on his college website at
http://www.geog.qmul.ac.uk/staff/vandermeer.html
That is all for now, remember to bookmark the website and check back for
all the latest developments!
Hopefully, we will see you in September!
Thanks,
Richard, Miriam & Mark
