Javier-
Short answer: download the latest version of MRIcro.
I have just started to see these new GE PET format images. It is the first
DICOM implementation I have seen that uses different intensity scaling for
subsequent slices within the same volume.
Old versions of MRIcro will complain about varying image intensities (as the
Analyze format requires a single image intensity scale for the whole volume)
. However, if you get the latest version of MRIcro from my web site, you
will find that when you choose 'Convert foreign to analyze' from the
'Import' menu it will correctly rescale your image. The necessary downside
is that the images are saved as 32-bit float to preserve precision.
Therefore, the images take a lot of disk space.
