SECOND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ELEMENTARY PROCESSES IN MOLECULE-METAL SURFACE INTERACTIONS
The Second International Conference on Elementary Processes in Molecule-Metal Surface Interactions will be held at the hotel Inter-Continental
San Juan Resort & Casino, San Juan, Puerto Rico, U.S.A., from Saturday, May 3 to Thursday, May 8, 2,003. The first conference, held in
November 2000, met with general acclamation and calls for continuance from the attendees. The objective of the meeting is to review the latest
and most significant experimental and theoretical advances in small molecule-metal surface interaction relevant to fuel cells, metal surface
erosion/corrosion processes, and molecular electronics. Scientific sessions will feature the latest theoretical and experimental advances in A)
(COx, NOx, Ox, Hx, Nx, etc.)-Metal surface interactions; B) CO-tolerant and bifunctional catalysts for fuel cells; C) organic molecule-metal surface
interaction relevant to molecular electronics. The general objectives of the conference are to: 1) bring together and critically review the latest
experimental and theoretical advances in the area of surface chemistry at the fundamental atomic/molecular level, and 2) determine future
directions in the development of surface science techniques that will further enhance the productive interplay between theory and experiment. The
information and on-line registration is available at: http://web.uprr.pr/icep-II. A total of 36 plenary and invited speakers will lecture during the
four-and-a-half day meeting. The total number of participants will be limited to 80.
