I have not entirely kept up with this discussion but one eminent
literary figure married an interest in both mines/miners and GPO Mail
Trains:
W. H. Auden
who I realise is one of the names in Peter Challis's first para
but the interesting add on is Hazel's linkage to the GPO
(and thence back to Auden)
