If you look at the site http://www.minersadvice.co.uk you will find details
of the Welsh mines
You will see that the mine at Abertysswg has a similar chimney and headframe
arrangement to your first picture although it is from a different angle and
if it is the same colliery the engine house is different (could be yours is
an earlier picture as the other one has several more buildings)

No idea if it is the same place really but it might give a few clues
