Hi All,
Phil Hudson here.
Possibly just another tale about this rare relict - ??
However I and others have a good set of docs ( but not comprehensive)
and old photos etc Two articles are almost ready for publication One
with lots of pictures for ARCHIVE - another with more info etc for a
forthcoming issue of Industrial Heritage.
More info from me
Cheers
Phil

Subject: ropeways
I understand from a friend that the ropeway in use at Claughton Manor
Brickworks is to be replaced with a new, higher capacity one. I trust
that I am correct in my assumption that this is the last 'classic'
ropeway in use in this country. Is anyone planning to try and obtain any
items for preservation or to rescue soon to be obsolete paperwork,
manuals etc from the owners? Does anyone know what the firms attitude is
to prospective visitors and does anyone have a contact name there.
