Hi Group
One Mat Liddel was in the 1850's retained as consultant viewer to the
Australian Agricultural Company who operated coal mines in Newcastle NSW...
he gave advice by sea-maill (three months each way) speciifed and ordered
machinery and recruited mine managers and engineers and never as far as I
can find out ever visited Australia.
I too would be interested to learn more about him.
Regards
John
