Tack notes, take notes, licences or letters of licence were issued by some
landlords to permit searches to take place, usually they would include a
clause that a full lease was available in wanted. I can't think of any 18th
c ones unless 'certain papers' cited by miners challenged at Rorrington in
1770 counts. If you want things for any particular Shropshire lead etc mine
do ask, I've nothing for Snailbeach, Central Snailbeach or Callow Hill.
