Hi Everyone,
A photo of a 'Foyman's Coble' (without the 'e') taken at South Hylton and
published in the Sunderland Echo in 1936 can be seen at:
http://www.crossley01.freeserve.co.uk/homepage/recent.htm
How 'Foyman' translates from Sunderland to Wales is questionable however.
If Jane wants to ensure thar her particular 'foyeman' is not, in fact, a
'foreman' or 'fireman' she could try cross-referencing with the old National
Census records, several of which are now available online. These records
include all those resident in the household, their ages and occupations etc.
Regards,
Dick
