I didnt take much notice of this subject in November but something rang a
bell this time around .Haematite was found in large nodules in the Mexborough
Rock in the S. Yorks/N.E. Derbyshire area in a number of sinkings most
notably in Manton shafts.[Mem. Geol Surv Sheffield] and magnetite was found
and extracted from the basal Permian sand in the Brodsworth-Bullcroft area
though it may have been residual [Mem.Geol. Surv. Barnsley].Or is this old
news?Apologies if it is.
