Tim,
Do you have any more information on the unit at Mansfield Rescue
Station? The unit at Berry Hill Rescue Station, covering North
Staffordshire, was an AEC lorry with a diesel generator on the back,
which towed a trailer mounted large electric winch. When the last shaft
colliery in the area, Hem Heath, closed, this blue painted unit went to
the Chatterley Whitfield Mining Museum to rest alongside a similar green
painted unit which i think was from Lancashire. They were both sold at
the infamous closure sale.
Barry Job.
