Yes this was a mine railway so qualifies :)
David Rose of the Narrow Gauge Railway Society has a request. If anyone
has information could they please reply to him direct at Newtimber Hill,
Poynings, Nr Brighton but also let us know on here.
He has acquired a photocopy of a letter on SDR headed paper offering the
railway land for sale after the lease to the County Council was renewed
in the late 1970s. There was a map attached and it stated that the sale
would include all the minute books, etc of the company. The then
proprietors were the son of Colonel Stephenson's secretary, a Mr
Iggledean, and his wife. Does anyone know if the company was sold or
not? Also does anyone know what happened to the minute books?
