MIND TRAINING COURSE: MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS
17 June 2003, London

This is an interactive and practical course, designed to inform and
encourage participants to develop their own thoughts about mental distress,
mental health services and the experience of service users.

Expert trainers will focus on the reality, using practical case studies and
real life examples.

THIS COURSE WILL ENABLE PARTICIPANTS TO:
*       understand and evaluate different models of mental health and
distress
*       hear personal stories of mental distress and mental health services
*       see the links between racism and other forms of oppression, and
mental distress
*       develop an understanding of the ways peoples' lives are affected
once they have been diagnosed as having mental illness

WHO WOULD BENEFIT FROM ATTENDING?
Anyone who comes into contact with people with mental health problems,
including people who use or have used mental health services themselves.

CANCELLATIONS
In the vent of circumstances beyond its control, Mind reserves the right to
amend or cancel any course. Delegates will be notified in advance and
provided with a refund or option to transfer to another course. Delegate
cancellations are accepted in writing up to one week prior to the event, and
are subject to a £45.00 administration charge. Cancellations after this date
are liable for the full registration fee. Delegate substitutions can be made
at any time without charge.
