The Centre for the History of Science, Technology and Medicine is seeking
to make two appointments.
§ Lecturer in the History of Medicine (Ref. no. 521/03)
The appointee will have a PhD in history of medicine or a related field, a
track record of high level research and publication, and teaching
experience. He/she will take on a particular responsibility for teaching
with medical students and liaison with the School of Medicine’s Humanities
strand. Salary in the range £22191 - £25451 p.a. or £26270 - £33679 p.a.
§ Lecturer in the History of Technology (Ref. no. 522/03)
The appointee will have, or be about to obtain, a PhD in history of
technology or related field, and be able to produce high level research
outputs and teaching. The appointee will play a leading role in developing
teaching and research in the history of modern technology. The Centre runs
the National Archive of the History of Computing, so the appointee is
expected to have expertise in this area or to add this to their research
and teaching profile. Salary in the range £22191 - £25451 p.a.
The Centre is already one of the leading groups in the field and is set to
grow further as a result of the coming together of the University of
