Some years ago I read an interesting article on images of disability in feature films in
a publication called Discourse, there may be references to other articles and books
included there.
I made a documentary about children with disability in the schools in Los Angeles (Going
To School-Ir a la Escuela). If you're interested in reading reviews of the film contact
me and I will give you the information. I find what is not written and where it's not
written to be more telling about existing attitudes toward disability, and images of
disability.

“GOING TO SCHOOL ~ IR A LA ESCUELA beautifully illustrates how students value their
disabled peers as friends and mentors, as they plan for their futures as integrated
members of their society. Parents, disabled children, educators and policy makers
should see this film.”
