Experimental Film Today
Conference
Friday 4th - Sunday 6th July 2003
Venue
University of Central Lancashire
Preston
Organisers
Faculty of Art & Fashion, University Central Lancashire, Preston, UK
Background
We are delighted to be able to bring together a diversity of voices -both new and established, regional, national and international - from the fields of experimental filmmaking, exhibition and theory to discuss the current situation and new developments in experimental film.
The conference will debate the complex dynamics that constitute avant-garde and experimental film by focussing on four key themes; new technologies, categorisation, access and distribution, and the cultural politics at stake. In addition, through numerous screenings of contemporary as well as historical examples, both delegates and the public will have the opportunity to experience a significant range of work.
This conference to be held at the University of Central Lancashire will offer unparalleled networking opportunities for delegates from the UK and overseas.
For further details about the conference contact Liz Kelly, or check out the website for a booking form.
