Hi,
as I haven't seen it mentioned earlier, Macromedia FlashMX can also
deliver "streaming" video and audio (in the sense intended by Tom
Goskar: the file is downloaded to the local computer, but it plays
while it's being downloaded). Flash has the advantage of a very broad
user base (apparently).
We have used video in a project not yet online, and audio, with a
similar technique, in a site for the British Museum
(http://www.thebritishmuseum.ac.uk/family/tour/). It was designed for
narrowband and it plays smoothly on that kind of connection.
