Just to add to this, Tate has one 3D reconstruction online - it is of
the gallery that Turner had in his house and is at
http://www.tate.org.uk/britain/turner/gallery.htm. It is is also
available at a kiosk in the Clore Gallery (within the first room
introducting Turner).

Subject: Re: 3D reconstruction IT displays in museums
The touchscreen version of COMPASS, the British Museum's collections
online, in the Museum's Reading Room, currently has two 3D
reconstructions: one of an ancient Egyptian tomb chapel (the tomb of
Nebamun) showing the the various fragments of wall painting now in the
Museum. The other is a reconstruction of a building on a Roman villa
estate at Meonstoke in Hampshire. Another that is in the pipeline is a
3D reconstruction of a medieval astrolabe, showing the science behind
the instrument and how it can be used to tell the time.

I am enquiring as to whether anybody knows of any 3D reconstructed IT
displays in a museum environment. At present I am planning to focus my
dissertation on visitors experience of IT displays and require another
case study. One of the displays I am interested in shows a site and its
use/disuse over time and the other has a 3D reconstruction of a site and
provides choices of narrative.
I would be extremely grateful if you could get in contact with me,
either by email, [log in to unmask] or by telephone, 07855 466785.
Many thanks
