as part of the East of England Sense of PLace - Essex project (NOF funded),
we are in the process of developing web accessible VR constructions of
objects and also archaeological sites. They should be ready over the coming
months.
The site can be found
http://eesopessex.essexcc.gov.uk/
its still in its infancy (and there are no VRs available just yet)
but if you need to find out more about the VR Object component do contact
me, otherwise contact Stephanie Wood for the VR of the archaeological sites.

Subject: Gallery interactives using Virtual Reality
Hallo All,
As part of the 'Corinium Project', a Lottery funded project to redevelop
the Corinium Museum in Cirencester, we are planning to produce a number of
multi-media interactives for use in the new galleries. We are now at the
stage of writing the specifications for these interactives before going out
to tender. At least two of them will involve some form of Virtual Reality
reconstruction (of archaeological sites) and I was wondering if anyone who
had already gone through this process had any words of wisdom about what
should be included from the outset and potential pitfalls to avoid...
