South East Film & Video Archive Project Officer
West Sussex Record Office
Salary: £19,824 to £21,993 (full-time for 12 months or part-time, 18.5
hours per week for 2 years)
Start Date: 1 November 2003
West Sussex Record Office is a purpose built office, housing 25 miles of
archives covering 1200 years of historical records for the county. In
addition to the traditional sources, the Record Office also holds the moving
image archive of the South East Film & Video Archive [SEFVA].
The Heritage Lottery Fund Project is designed to produce a DVD on the SEFVA
collection. We are looking for a Project Officer who will be dedicated to
the supervision and activities related to this project.
This Project Officer will be responsible for: selecting the film material,
undertaking all research and text authoring, recording oral history
interviews, arranging and supervising the digitisation of the assets and the
composing of new music, supervising the production and duplication of the
DVD, distributing and launching the DVD across the region.
Applicants should preferably have a good understanding of DVD authoring and
production as well as knowledge of film archive practices and the
appropriate technical expertise. The post holder should have a knowledge of
film-to-digital transfer, experience of public sector heritage projects, be
familiar with MACs and hold a clean drivers license.
The closing date for receipt of applications is 5 September 2003. The job
needs to commence on or before 1 November 2003.
