Karen:
I spoke to a Northern Light official just a few minutes ago.
Although he didn't come out and say it, it's a money issue. In other words,
maintaining NorthernLight.Com was not worth it.
The NL News Search is still online but will soon disappear. Again, it costs
them to much to mainitain.
Northern Light technology will still be available from divine but the public
site will get a new look and be a marketing tool.
Regarding alert services, Yahoo is still making one available.
http://alerts.yahoo.com/config/set_notification?.t=n
and Net2One
http://www.net2one.co.uk/index2.asp
(look for the box in the left column)
I also highly recommend WebSite-Watcher. It allows you to check any web page
for changes.

Finally, a couple of new articles on the divine/Rowecom story.
