Does anyone know of any research that has been done on the pros and cons of
using library 'jargon' such as 'fiction' and 'non-fiction' or 'reference'
on signage in public libraries ie do we know that the 'public/customer'
doesn't know what they mean and would prefer terms such as 'information
books' and 'novels'? Also any original (and helpful) ideas on naming areas
within the library eg children's 'zone'?
Thanks
