Dear Colleagues,
The University, College & Research Group London Section, CILIP is pleased to invite you to a major new series of monthly events focused on the highlights of library collections in London.
London possesses the world's greatest concentration of libraries and it is very exciting that many of these libraries have agreed to take part in a year long series of events in collaboration with UC&R London.
This year we are focusing on special and historic research and museum collections. Among the libraries taking part are UCL, Science Museum, Tate Library, British Film Institute, Wellcome Trust, Natural History Museum, King's College London, National Art Library, Women's Library, Royal College of Music, and Goldsmith's College.
The Libraries of London Series 2003-2004 will be launched at The University of London Library on the 1st April 2003 at 6:00pm. Places are already in demand for the launch of this rare opportunity to see many of the highlights of some of the world's finest library collections. A wine reception at The University of London Library will follow a guided tour and exhibition of the collections. We are grateful to the staff of ULL's Historic Collections Team for their help in organising this event and very much look forward to welcoming you to ULL for the launch of the series.
These events are free to members of UC&R and at the cost of £2 to non-members. All relevant details are available on the UC&R website. Please also use this website to check for further details, as visits will be advertised each month between April 2003 and April 2004.
