That didn't work for me, either in the subject line or the body of the
message. I've found the volume of messages in my inbox overwhelming, and
would like to unsubscribe. I'll keep trying!

Subject: How to get off a discussion list
We've had a few messages recently, requesting removal from the lis-cilip
list.
It's a bit pointless, and generally not seen as good netiquette, to send
such a request to the list itself, as it doesn't get you unsubscribed, and
everyone on the list gets to see your mistake.
Any commands to manage your membershi[p of the list should instead be sent
to
[log in to unmask] There's a range of things you can do, which are
listed at:
http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/docs/user-ref-card.htm
If you want to unsubscribe from the list, just send to the address
[log in to unmask] the command:
"leave lis-cilip"
