It is JISCMAIL etiquette that list members do not send attachments.

I send out periodic reminders not to send attachments to lis-medical. If it
persists I can change settings so that it won't accept them.

Many mail handlers do not allow attachments to arrive in peoples mail boxes.
Also, it is one of the most basic rules of emailing and receiving email that
you never open an attachment from someone you don't know as they are highly
likely to be where email viruses are hiding.
