Lecturer in Electronic Communication
The School of Library, Archive and Information Studies at UCL is looking to
strengthen its existing expertise in IT-related research and teaching. The
School offers a highly successful BSc in Information Management and MA in
Electronic Communication and Publishing as well as masters’ programmes in
Library and Information Studies, Archives and Records Management, and
Information Science.
We are now seeking a lecturer in the area of the Internet and Electronic
Communication. The person appointed will ideally specialize in the
management and delivery of information over the Internet. S/he will show
strong evidence of research potential and will be able to teach at all
levels from first year undergraduate to taught masters, and be able to
supervise undergraduate and masters dissertations. An ability to teach and
supervise some topics within the area of Library and Information Studies is
desirable.
This post offers an opportunity to develop new ideas and new directions
within the overall development strategy for the School. Existing IT-based
research focuses on digital libraries, computing in the humanities, user
needs, XML, metadata, and artificial intelligence applications.
Salary on Lecturer B up to £33,679 depending on qualifications and
experience. A London allowance of £2134 is also payable.
