Assistant Librarian. Area Specialist for the former Soviet Union and Poland
School of Slavonic and East European Studies Library
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Librarian based in the School of Slavonic and East European Studies Library which forms part
of UCL's large multi-site academic library service. The postholder will be responsible for selecting material for the former Soviet Union and Poland
sections of the Library, assessing, maintaining and developing these collections in accordance with the Library's Collection Management Policy,
liaising with teaching staff and researchers and preparing and delivering subject-specific information skills training.
The successful applicant will have an honours degree in a relevant language or subject, a qualification in Librarianship or Information Studies, a
good knowledge of Russian and Polish and a minimum of two years' library experience. Experience of working in an academic or specialised
research library, good IT skills and experience with an automated library management system are also essential.
Salary within the AR2 range £23,259 - £29,473 per annum inclusive of London Weighting (pay award pending). In addition, Library Services offers
a generous leave allowance.
