a) CHEST Invoicing
------------------
It has been brought to our attention by our Finance department that some
licensed sites are taking an exceedingly long time in settling invoices
in respect of CHEST agreements. We would like to remind sites that our
terms are strictly 30 days. We operate on the basis of very small
margins and cannot afford to subsidise any one individual site. Your
co-operation in processing our invoices in a timely manner would be much
appreciated.
b) Snapshots Series - Call for expressions of interest
-----------------------------------------------------
CHEST has been in contact with Snapshots International Ltd to discuss
the possibility of an Agreement for the supply of the Snapshots Series
of market research reports. These would be of interest to those in the
fields of Business, Marketing, Accountancy, Social Sciences, Law,
Financial Services and other related areas.
It is hoped that any Agreement would include access through Athens
Authentication.
Pricing has been discussed but not fixed, and may be in the range of
£1000 to £7000 for a Site Licence, depending on the package chosen.
The likely packages would be all reports for the following geographic
areas:
* United Kingdom (UK)
over 200 report titles covering over 20 industry sectors in the UK
* UK and Western Europe (WE)
over 700 report titles covering over 20 industry sectors in the UK,
France, Germany, Italy, Spain, The Netherlands and Western European

CHEST would like to hear from anyone who might be interested in
subscribing. No organisation expressing an interest will be committed,
but for CHEST to proceed further it is first necessary for us to
ascertain whether in principle sites might be interested in an
Agreement.
Expressions of interest should be addressed to Allen McCarrol -
<mailto:[log in to unmask]> - with the subject line "Snapshots".
The following is supplied by Snapshots:
Snapshots International Ltd is an independent market research publisher,
which specialises in top-line data only reports. Although the reports
are small in size, they contain all the valuable data required to assess
the potential for markets as specialised as UK Microwaves or Malaysian
Water Supplies.
If you were familiar with Snapshots prior to 2002, you will see many
changes in the product content and availability since the Management
buy-out in 2001. The Snapshots Series 2002 included 1700 titles over 35
industries from contract catering to sewage to regional newspapers to
fur production over 23 countries. 2003 publications will include 7 new
countries and ongoing production development increases the collection
every year. Snapshots reports are published annually with 10 year
updated and forecast trending and include additional information such as
the Economist Intelligence Unit's socio-economic data, key player
web-links and trade association details to enable further research. Each
year the content is reviewed and expanded on the feedback from trade
shows, current client forums and future potential requests. Flexible
search options allow the more advanced researcher to use Boolean logic
and taxonomy streamlining, while a quick and simple title list by
country, industry and SIC code provides easy access for the less
experienced user.
Ideal for business and marketing courses, the Snapshots information
helps prepare business plans for: start-ups, expansion into new markets,
strategic development, marketing, or for preparing financial forecasting
for fund-raising. 40% of business and marketing ventures fail at the
early stages due to a lack of market awareness. Snapshots are designed
to help in these first critical steps whether in the "real world" or
whether learning the skills to interpret this information for future
employment. Snapshots reports have proved popular with the academic
market, as students are provided with the same key data to develop their
own analysis, as that used by the world's major Investment Banks,
Consultancies and Advertising companies.
Whether your needs are for UK or International information, the reports
provide a broad range of industries which cover traditional consumer
markets but also extend to industrial, IT and Telecoms, energy,
construction, pharmaceuticals, media and more.
To view the full product, simple front-end and report titles please
visit our website at http://www.snapdata.com - "Search Snapshots". No
passwords are required and there are over 10 sample reports to enable
you to assess the suitability for your students and lecturers.
"The Bottom Line: Snapshots Series is recommended for academic and
special libraries requiring basic market research on a broad range of
industries - searching is literally a snap with this product as the
vendor specifically aims to keep it simple." University of
Wisconsin-Whitewater, Library Journal, October 2002
