LIBRARY ASSISTANT VACANCIES AT HM TREASURY & CABINET OFFICE LIBRARY
The Library team supports the staff of HM Treasury and the Cabinet Office,
including 10 Downing Street. We are seeking 4 enthusiastic people to join
our team. There are three posts at Senior Library Assistant level, two in
Reader Services and one in Acquisitions. The Reader Services Senior
Library Assistants will be working on our busy enquiry desk and running the
inter-library loans service. The Acquisitions Senior Library Assistant
will concentrate on organising our serials collection. The Acquisitions
section is also looking for a Library Assistant to undertake the important
work of maintaining the serials service for our customers. This includes
checking in and maintaining the database.
All post holders will be located in the Treasury Library at 1 Horse Guards
Rd, London. Applicants must have a demonstrable interest in librarianship
or information science. Candidates must be enthusiastic, flexible and self
motivated. HM Treasury has Investor in People status and provides
excellent training opportunities. The Reader Services posts would be
suitable for a graduate seeking library experience prior to entering
library school.
Duration: 12 month fixed term contracts, with the possibility of extension
or conversion to permanency.
