I agree Claire I am making a fuss because I think it is an important point
of principal that the library information professional body should not
withhold or charge for information it has generated for the use of the
profession.
If it has been agreed on the CILIP list that bits of information can be
forwarded but not the whole then that is great. I am afraid I was not aware
that the matter had been discussed on Lis-CILIP. Can you tell me when so
that I can take a look at the archives.

Surely you understand the point that has been made on LIS-CILIP, that
forwarding the message in its entirety is wrong because you are giving a
membership benefit away ... but that passing on the information that you
have gained is perfectly acceptable.
I think you are making rather a large fuss!
