Part-Time Library Assistant - Evenings
THE SCHOOL OF PHARMACY (University of London)
The School of Pharmacy Library is an extremely busy biomedical library
offering high quality information services to students, researchers and
staff. We are seeking to appoint a part-time assistant to work weekday
evenings during term time between 4.30pm and 8pm.
Duties will include issue desk coverage, enquiry work, help to users,
shelving, tidying, etc. All library housekeeping procedures are
computerised using the Unicorn system. We are looking for energetic,
intelligent and proactive individuals with excellent customer and
communication skills. Previous experience in a busy modern library and a
degree level education will be advantageous.
Applicants should be able to commit to at least two evenings per week. A
degree of flexibility about evenings to be worked and the
willingness/ability to help out with extra hours during busy times will
also be an advantage. There is no weekend work required at present. Pay
will be pro rata on a clerical scale, approximately £8.50 per hour. We
anticipate that the post will offer excellent experience to those at the
early stages of a library/information-based career. In-house
familiarisation training will be given.
To apply, please send your current curriculum vitae with a covering letter
including details of two referees to: The Personnel Officer, The School of
Pharmacy, University of London, 29-39 Brunswick Square, London, WC1N 1AX,
