Dear Colleagues,
St Martin's College Library is working on a User Education Policy, a
published statement of what user education opportunities (i.e. library
induction, electronic resource and other information skills training, etc),
we offer to our students and staff. Does anyone else have a similar
published policy or statement they would be willing to share with us? This
could be either a standalone policy or one incoporated into other more
general library policies.
If you don't have a written statement, please could you give us a
brief outline of what user ed you provide, including
* what you cover (eg. databases, referencing)
* who you provide it for
* how you deliver it
* how you publicise it
* how you embed it into academic courses
* whether you use a VLE (and how)
* whether you provide workbooks/other printed material
* how you evaluate it
We would also be interested to know what you actually call what you
do - user education? information skills training? learning support? etc.
Please reply to Lisa Bruce (mailto:[log in to unmask]), (Site

Thanks very much.
