We went through a tender process in 2002, chose III/ Millennium for our LMS and MAP for our RDS.
We shall be trained in the latter's use in the near future, and begin to work to implement it from December onwards. In the tender process which we adopted, suppliers were invited to tender for both Library management and resource discovery systems, or for either singly. We therefore conducted a detailed evaluation of several of the available products in mid-late 2002.

Ian,
Leeds has gone for the III MAP product. We are a III site. We have just
placed an order for this product and will be starting to implement shortly.
We have also done an evaluation of Metalib/SFX (from ExLibris) and
Encompass.

Subject: Library portals
[I think this is the most appropriate list for this query, even if list
members are not directly involved with portals themselves]
We are currently starting a project to spec and implement a library portal
and I'd be interested to know who already has a portal in use or is
implementing now.
I know from the Ex Libris site who has acquired (though not necessarily yet
implemented) Metalib and that Edinburgh are going for ENCompass, but I'd be
interested to hear from others.
Many thanks.
