Holidays:
The Open Archives Initiative: application and exploitation
Wednesday 14 May 2003
Both library- and publisher-lead case studies will be presented, including
projects from the JISC FAIR (Focus on Access to Institutional Resources)
programme such as SHERPA (Securing a Hybrid Environment for Research
Preservation and Access), Project RoMEO (Rights MEtadata for Open archiving)
and the DAEDALUS (Data providers for Academic E-content and the Disclosure
of Assets for Learning, Understanding and Scholarship) Project. A
collaborative project between a publisher, IoPP (Institute of Physics
Publishing), and the RDN (Resource Discovery Network) hub, PSIgate, will be
discussed, and the European project, FIGARO, will describe an infrastructure
for academic e-publishing in Europe. The Open Citation Project will be
covered and a journal publisher's perspective will be presented from
Emerald.
