Apparently we are experiencing the same problem.

Subject: Science Direct, Evidence-based Healthcare and Acrobat Reader 6
Good afternoon
I wonder if anyone else is experiencing the same problems we are having
with the journal Evidence-based Healthcare as delivered by Science Direct
(Elsevier) at the following address
<http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/journal/14629410>http://www.sciencedir
ect.com/science/journal/14629410
- we are unable to read any pdf document using Acrobat Reader 6 in volumes
4 and 5 only.
This became apparent because an article in one of those volumes is used in
a class and was suddenly not visible. The user gets a message to the
effect that the application is unable to extract the embedded font and if
you click ok you see nothing on the screen. Paradoxically you can print
the document but students who have to pay for printing are unlikely to take
the risk. This is not happening with the same volumes and Acrobat Reader 5.
I would be grateful if anyone else is noticing this behaviour could reply
to the list. Science Direct themselves are not experiencing this behaviour
and our problem is that we have Acrobat 6 on all 1600 user machines and do
not want to roll back.
Best regards
Nuri
