Hi,
We used to have access to Phlebology through Springer LINK, but have just
noticed that it has disappeared from the Springer LINK site. All that we get
is a message saying that "The linking target specified was not found". We
are using a URL of the following format:
http://link.springer.de/link/service/journals/00523/index.htm, but the new
format http://springerlink.com/link.asp?id=102829 gives us the same message.
I know that this journal is now published by the Royal Society of Medicine
Press, but if the whole content has been moved off the Springer LINK site it
might be helpful to have a redirect message in place, and for those of us
who subscribe to the Springer LINK collection to have been informed of this
fact.
I only found out about this by accident when investigating the ALPSP offer
to NESLI2. Phlebology is one of the journals in this collection, and I just
happened to check whether it was still on the Springer LINK site.
I then started checking other titles no longer published by Springer, there
was only one other - Europhysics News - the following link no longer works -
http://springerlink.com/link.asp?id=101162 and just takes you to the
Springer LINK home page, this time with no message. If I search for this
title on Springer LINK I can find the journal home page, but this title is
now hosted on another site at: http://194.94.42.12/licensed_materials/00770/
- however surely the original link could have been maintained to take me to
the page on Springer LINK that points to another site? I can't however find
any trace of phlebology
Maybe Springer could have informed those of us who have a license to access
Springer LINK when such changes occur? I used to be registered for LINK
Serials Update and LINK Alert, but since Springer moved to its new site,
such alerts have stopped coming. These were very useful in keeping up to
date with the changes, now my only alternative is to once again have to
visit the site and try and spot any changes, not very satisfactory is it?
Have others spotted these two changes?
Cheers
Lesley
