Blackwell Publishing and NESLi2 are pleased to announce that they have agreed an offer for 2004. This will enable UK universities and higher education colleges to gain online access to Blackwell's collection of 660 international peer-reviewed journals, many published on behalf of scholarly and professional societies. The collection includes journals covering medicine, life and physical sciences, social science and the humanities, and the full title list can be seen here: http://www.blackwellpublishing.com/librarians/2004Collectiontitles.xls
The agreement offers institutions two options for purchasing access to the journals, both complying with the Model Licence. These include the option to maintain all print subscriptions and, new for 2004, the option to convert some or all existing subscriptions to online-only.
The collection prices are based on the NESLi2 banding for size of the institution, and there are volume discounts, based on the number of sites participating in the deal, available for orders before November 1st 2003.
"This year we've had 73 UK higher education institutions accessing the important research in Blackwell's journals", said Paul Calow, Blackwell Publishing's Senior Journal Sales Executive for the UK. He added, "With this new flexible agreement for 2004 we're looking forward to working with NESLi2 to ensure even more academics and students can access the content next year".
Libraries wishing to take advantage of the Blackwell Publishing/NESLi2 agreement for 2004, and the discounts available before November 1st, should contact Paul Calow directly:
