This is excellent!
Thank you for the information. I'll check the spreadsheet later today.
Will you post to the reedelsevier list as well?
Chuck Hamaker.

Subject: Re: Mosby titles and related
Dear all,
a week ago Louise Cole asked whether anyone had figured out direct URLs
to the 530 titles listed at he Elsevier Health site (EH),
http://www2.us.elsevierhealth.com/scripts/om.dll/serve?action=home
which include Mosby, Churchill Livingstone, Saunders, and others.
Under the address
http://www.ub.uni-stuttgart.de/ejournals/ElsevierHealth.xls
I have compiled an Excel sheet of URLs and other information for these
Journal titles, including full text availability on different Elsevier
platforms and coverage of back issues. I hope you will find that useful.
About 170 titles of the 530 listed offer no full text access yet.
I found that about 60 titles are available so far only on the Elsevier
Health Journals Platform (called by Elsevier the "ES Electronic Journals
System") only, while another 60 are available on both the EH Platform
and also on ScienceDirect. From these 60, about 25 have further back
files on EH (up to 16 years), 20 have the same coverage, and for 15
the situation is reversed Another 300 of the listed titles have full
text available only via ScienceDirect, not on the EH Platform. (Ca. 260
of these 300 titles are also available as ScienceDirect Web Editions.)
Half of those 300 ScienceDirect titles are also accessible via another
Elsevier Platform, an SD derivate called "MedicineDirect". A comparison
shows that in general several years of back issues are missing on MD,
and - what is worse - coverage is unreliable, with many individual
issues missing in the early years.
I tried to figure out URLs that looked like they should remain stable
(hopefully). Please note that this is inofficial information extracted
by semi-automatic means from Elsevier's websites with the help of search
engines, but then carefully proofed and checked for consistency.
With respect to the issue of linking, the website is completely clear;
cf. the info on the "About" page of each journal, e.g.

Linking to the Journal of Critical Care web site
W.B. Saunders Company has no objection to links made from other sites to
the Journal of Critical Care site provided that you comply with the
following requirements:
You may not frame or alter the appearance of the Journal of Critical
Care site. You may not state or imply that the Journal of Critical Care
endorses, sponsors, or otherwise approves your site or any other site.
You may not use any W.B. Saunders Company or Journal of Critical Care
trademarks or logos without prior written consent from W.B. Saunders
Company. The only permitted form of link is a text link on the Journal
of Critical Care name.
Please see the sample below:
Read the article at the Journal of Critical Care site.
In view of the dynamic nature of the Internet, and the possibility of
updates and changes, we request that your link enter the Journal of
Critical Care site at the home page. If you do link to an internal page,
we cannot guarantee that the link will remain active. You must abide by
all of the other Journal of Critical Care terms and conditions of use.
For example, you may not reproduce or host Journal of Critical Care
content on your web site.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
So I would politely ignore the strange and difficult to understand
answer given by the EHS customer service (it seems that some people
there do not understand the concept of "linking"), as the written terms
are clear enough.
Cf. also the Document "Copyright and Other Information,
http://www3.us.elsevierhealth.com/HS/copyright.html, Section "Linking to
Elsevier Sites". From the example given above it is clear that what is
meant here are the individual journals sites (homepages).
Best regards,
