Dear Subscriber,

We are happy to confirm that the transfer of the electronic version of
Public Understanding of Science from the Institute of Physics to SAGE is
completed. The Institute of Physics (IOP) graciously extended the period of
electronic access via their Web site into 2003 to allow time for
subscribers to register to Ingenta. This access via IOP is now closed.

Should you have not yet activated your electronic access via Ingenta
(available free to all current institutional print subscribers), simply
enter the URL www.ingenta.com and click on the ‘sign up now’ button.  You
will be presented with two options, please select the option ‘Institutional
Registration’.  You will then be required to fill in your institute’s
address details and select your authentication type (username/password or
IP address) before clicking the ‘continue’ button.

If you are unable to register your IP address please contact the Ingenta
helpdesk [log in to unmask]  as your institute may already be registered for
access.

You then take the following steps:
1. Fill out the required form, choosing either IP ranges or username
and password to control user access.
2. When you click on continue it will ask you to create an
administrator account. The username and password you create here should be
kept to yourself as all control for the new account resides here.
3. Click on “start Ingenta” to complete the institutional registration.

You will then be in the ‘Manage my Ingenta area’.  From here please go
into ‘my subscriptions’ to view your current subscriptions list and request
the activation of new titles.
