But if an article is available from 4 or 5 different sources, which
is often the case, and this should be represented in the national database,
this is also extremely frustrating for the users- how are they to know which
one(s) is the right one for them?
It becomes even more complicated when you take into account date coverage,
not only what is available from different suppliers, but what each
institution's subscriptions cover. Making the users do the work of
checking through each and every one doesn't seem like a good idea.
While the idea of a national database sounds wonderful, I reckon that at
some point in the chain we need information about each institution's
subscriptions, so the results can filtered through that.
