Hi,
I knew I shouldn't have spoken too soon! Our username and passwords for
the Aslib titles all changed again a couple of months ago.
Cheers

Hi,
I agree with all the comments made so far, having to have an different
username and password for each title, users being faced with a screen
that suggests that they don't have access to these titles is all a
recipe for disaster and confusion. Surely if we have to have usernames
and passwords, one for each publisher would be helpful, although not the
best solution.
Our username and passwords are still working, but the thought of having
passwords change on a regular basis without any communication from the
publisher is just too much to bear. Aslib does want people to read its
journals doesn't it? Maybe Emerald doesn't! There also seems some
inconsistency in that some of us are having passwords changed on a
regular basis, whereas ours has been working for a long while now, but
better not speak too soon!!
The best thing like everyone has suggested surely would be that these
journals could be accessed via IP address, maybe someone from Emerald or
Aslib might like to comment to the list on this?
Cheers
Lesley

Subject: Aslib on Emerald and the ever-changing password
Dear all,
Is anyone else finding a problem with the Aslib titles (J Doc, Program,
Aslib Proc) which now live on Emerald? Not only do we have to log in
with a username and password (no IP access!) the password seems to
change each month.
Why? And even if this had to happen, why can't they tell us???
Are others coping with this / have others managed to get IP access? I'd
be interested to hear how other Aslib member libraries have found
accessing this content since the journals moved.
Thanks
Louise
