Is it really worth going on about this? I thought it was a supply and demand matter. If
there weren't enough people wanting to do this job, I am sure the pay would increase in
order to attract people but, as such, I haven't heard of a shortage of librarians.
Although I am no happier than others in respect of levels of pay, I think though that we
should concentrate on chartership issues on this particular list and deal with pay
conditions and status separately. I joined the list mainly to find out more about courses,
people's experience and any advice they can offer on this matter and I hope we will stick
to this.
Thank you.

Oh to have the luxury to do extra degrees on the side and have them paid for!!!
Sounds like librarianship offered you some rewards then?
And did you really need a mentor to tell you that librarianship wouldn't give you the
opportunity to go on month long trips? If that's what yuo wanted then you should have been
a travelling salesman!
