Dear All,
I am slightly confused by the new guidelines on chartership. I have spent my
alloted time span on an approved route A training programme. i changed jobs
in between, had a wonderful time in my first job in training, but an
unpleasant experience during my latter part of route A training largely due
to managerial problems.
Anyway to cut a long story short, I have done my two years under a route A
programme, and when last I contacted CILIP, I was told I would have to re
register on route B. Now I am happy with this and understand that, BUT
As I understand from the new guidance, I have to do another two years of an
approved training programme for route B and I also have to be in the same
job or with the same supervisor for that two years. I am now working for one
of the library recruitment agencies, so I am having to to do temporary work
(another consequence of my last post).
My questions are these:
Am I correct in what I understand?
Are my previous route A supervised years irrelevant to my chartership? (I
actually feel I learnt a lot)
Am I unable to register at all until I have a permanent job for at least two
years?
Please advise
