Cynical is right! Just to say that not all librarians share this view and some
people are pretty happy with career/job/contracts etc. It is true that the
profession is not a 'get rich quick' scheme but there is a lot of job
satisfaction attached. To say that everyone expects too much is an untruth and a
pretty broad generalisation.
Putting the above in context I myself am in a professional contract post and am
not in a permanent and pensionable post yet!
