I have just been informed by BIDS that none of their databases "does"
chapter references (for pagination). Can any of the bright young things on
this list advise which service to use for this ? LSE/BEI output
doesn't "do" chapter refs. I can't believe I have lived all these years
without our academic libraries not providing this service (perhaps this
could be a good topic of discussion for the UCR Group ?)
I am actually compiling a bibliography for when the chartership format
changes - one lives in hope (after all, this year finally sees the demise
of mickey-mouse qualifications like the NVQs - which if I remember
correctly flopped ŕ l'étranger, see URL posted some time ago on this list,
regarding their assessment and take-up).
Who knows ? Maybe in the coming decade we shall actually see subject
librarians with CILIP (and other) qualifications for the subjects they are
in charge of, and researchers actually using librarians for their research
queries.
Oh !!! I am also writing a paper on educational utopia ...
